Portland hotel & restaurant decorate holiday trees to benefit Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Oregon
PORTLAND, Ore. – (Nov. 24, 2010) – Hotel Fifty, a distinctive boutique hotel located in Portland where downtown meets the river, and its premium casual restaurant, H5O bistro & bar, will unveil their holiday trees that have been decorated with ornaments to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Oregon, on Saturday, November 27.
Students from The Goddard School and Prune Hill Elementary, both in Camas, Wash., created handmade holiday ornaments that Hotel Fifty will hang on two trees, one in the main hotel lobby and the other in its restaurant, H5O bistro & bar.
The property is holding a competition between the hotel and the food and beverage department to raise money to grant local wishes for local children. The trees will be on display through December 31 and cash or check donations to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Oregon will be accepted at the front desk of the hotel.
"It's great to see the artistic talent from these students and know that it is ultimately benefiting another young person," said Terry Hanley, general manager of Hotel Fifty. "And everything gets better when we add a little friendly competition to the mix!"
The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Oregon grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
